INSIGHTS

Ideas Economy is an independent newsletter, examining creativity, latent value, and systems design.

Each week, I write and deliver to subscribers either an Essay or Mental Model, giving them the tools to identify and harness latent value in business.

What kind of latent value is sitting unstructured in your organisation?

The Ideas Economy reflects how business actually creates value today. Wealth and business reward are increasingly driven by intangible assets — such as intellectual property, creative intelligence, and human imagination — and this is already eclipsing that which was traditionally easier to measure, that is, through physical goods, manual service, and the like.

The difficulty is that, by its nature, this kind of value is difficult to quantify, and often hard to identify in the first place. This publication explores what factors are actually necessary for value (invisible, intangible, latent or otherwise) to propagate.

57% of employers consider creative thinking a core skill to workforce performance, outranking technological literacy.*

Is this a surprise to anybody? Perhaps not, particularly today.

So then, how might we apply creativity to business in a way that is repeatable, sustainable, and grows value?
